Benjamin Klein is one of seven students at the computer science department (three and four Bachelor Master students), who will spend the next fall trimester (September to December) at our Canadian partner university, York University in Toronto. He already knows his host university from the summer school he attended last year. Another "expedition" to Canada will be undertaken to Halifax, Dalhousie University. Three of our Master students will be spending their second year at the University of New Brunswick Fredericton & Saint John. They have been preparing for the Dual Degree Program ever since the start of their studies. During the winter semester they have been attending additional, joint teleteaching courses. The EU-CANADA Transatlantic Exchange Partnerships (TEP) Programme of the European Commission is promoting the strengthening of European university cooperation with Canada. Its purpose is to increase the implementation of dual and joint degree programmes. Project coordinator for the project "International Distributed Computer Science Degree" is Prof. Rainer Herpers at BRSU, the other members of the consortium are our three Canadian Partner Universities and the Warsaw University of Technology and University of Crete. In cooperation with York University in Toronto a further Dual Degree, also on the Bachelor level, is in the planning. Contact: MA Nadine Fröbel, Projekt Internationales
